Have you ever seen the error that your SEL is full? Well here are some solutions to clear it on your Dell server. You will see an error during post and this error will be displayed in your LCD panel on the front bezel of the server:
I1912 SEL Full
1. If you have openmanage agents install run the command on service console: “omconfig system esmlog action=clear”. (You can also do it from the web interface)
2. if you have DRAC, you can log into the web interface and clear the log
3. If you neither have DRAC or openmanage. Reboot the system, go to the BMC menu and there should be an option to clear the log.

Thank you for the great post…just ran into this issue and thanks to you quickly resolved!
I seldom leave a response, but I glanced through a few responses on
this page Clear the SEL (System Event Log) from Dell Servers | Ask The Admin.
I actually do have a couple of questions for you if it’s okay. Is it simply me or does it seem like some of these responses appear like they are coming from brain dead visitors? :-P And, if you are writing at other online sites, I’d
like to follow you. Could you post a list of every one of all
your social pages like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin
profile?
Thanks! My writing has definitely slowest down bit there are plenty of posts here and at makeuseof.com
Thank you for this post. I was able to resolve this issue in <5 min using your openmanage solution. Saved me much time & frustration!
Thanks for your help! Yours tips saved my day. I used OpenManage Application in the Internet Explorer, and worked fine. Regards from Paulo Sampaio (Brazil).
