HP ProBook 4520s Review
I am totally finished with Dell at home now. I replaced my Dell laptop with the new HP ProBook 4520s. It is the latest offering in the 15 1/2 -inch business notebook from Hewlett-Packard.
The ProBook 4520s features the Intel Core i7-620LM, i5-520M, i5-430M, i3-350M, or i3-330M CPU, the Intel HD integrated graphics or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4350 512MB dedicated video card, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner or Blu-Ray Combo. The 15.6-inch LED-backlit HD display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and BrightView in some models.
The HP ProBook 4520s also sports a full-sized keyboard with separate numeric keypad, an optional 2MP web camera, stereo speakers and an integrated microphone, 802.11a/b/g/n wireless, the optional HP un2450 EV-DO/HSPA Mobile Broadband Module 2.0 with GPS support, a Gigabit Ethernet port, Bluetooth, and optional 56k modem, as well as VGA and HDMI outputs, three USB ports and a combo eSATA/USB port, an ExpressCard slot, a media card reader, and optionally a fingerprint reader. The laptop starts at around 5.5 pounds with the standard 6-cell battery and runs Windows 7 or SUSE Linux. It can be ordered through HP’s website for a base price of $799.
I have my Verizon broadband wireless card and this monster of a machine and they compliment each other wonderfully. The best part of all is that this machine will last me for several years. I am already running all my virtual machines off of it and have all my tools and applications loaded up on it.
Long story short this machiene is awesome with a full size keyboard for all my admin/writing needs.
Use your Intel core i5-2.5GHz Toshiba satellite laptop for longer sessions with durable laptop batteries.

I’ve been trying out this ProBook 4520s for a couple of months now and it’s just wonderful.

I have one of these HP 4520′s and the touchpad completely stinks beyond belief! My palm grazes it and it makes the cursor jump all over the screen. The keyboard stinks in that there is a delay in typing and keys must be fully and exactly pressed or they won’t show typing. I put Ubuntu on this machine and things got much much worse. The exteranl video is beyond garbage and will not support a full screen external monitor for the life of me. This is the worst machien I’ve ever owned or used. I am going to sell it so I never have to use the pile of garbage again.
