Skype for Windows Mobile pulled but we still have the link! Updated with cab file!

So apparently after some partnering up with Verizon, Skype has decided to temporarily pull its Windows Mobile client. Support says if you have it and run it – it will work.
But you will not be able to download it. We have uploaded the file to our server here as well for when it is gone all together! And we have the Cab file now as well here: http://rapidshare.com/files/422681600/SkypeWM_v3.0.0.256.zip
Downloaded it to my old Verizon Moto Q9m. Didnt work at first when i tried to install it. My phone told me the program was an invaild setup exe.
so after a few minutes of thought i decided to install it on my computer with the same setup exe and it worked fine. a folder pops up on the desktop with some junk in it. there are 2 files that are “CAB” files. these are the setup exe’s for the phones. Put those on your phone and try to install them.
The one didnt work for me, but the second one did.
this is how you can get it on any windows moble phone easy.

dont forget to uninstall it from you computer after your done. sorry forgot to add that in there

I just set up skype on my HTC-HD2 and works like a breez. Thanks for helping to locate the download.
There are many questions on this site about how this can work, so here is my experience:
- install activesync on your PC/laptop
-download the skype instaler
-connect your HD2 to the PC and let it sync
- run the skype installer .exe file
- it will automatically install it on your HD2
- reboot your HD2 at the end.
This worked for me.

I downloaded .cab file from rapidshare link and installed it on HTC_HD2. It’s working absolutely fine. Thanks for you help.

Dudem how did u instal on it, cause i downloaded it and once i put it on the phones memory card, and it sends me a message that it cant be oppened.
Yes. Download the executable run it on your computer with your device connected via active sync. Good luck and may the force be with you :)
Install on your computer! It will do the rest when it syncs.

Hi guys I see that a lot of people have the problem that I have with skype on my HD2 – it takes too long to sign in and then it say that I should check on my connection. PLEASE HELP, urgently need skype :(. 10x in advance.

I have HTC HD2 windows 6.5
ALL THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING TROUBLE IN CONNECTING SKYPE i.e. “Unable to connect to skype network, check your internet connection” . or if skype is taking too long to connect after you enter your username/password..
JUST REBOOT YOUR DEVICE =D … it will do the trick… worked for me..

tried the Echo/Sound test Service …
it worked after switching on and off the device several times.
now the issue is that its keeps disconnecting every 2/3 mins … Can anyone help me get rid of the issue ..
i am using WiFi / Active sync to connect to internet

I tried installation with the cab: it installed but then could not login (was trying for minutes and minutes… nothing happening).
I desinstalled it, and then used the .exe from laptop to mobile.
And now it works fine!! quite fast to connect!
i can!t wait to make a first trial with a friend to test it.
but short question: people are now talking a lot about windows phone 7. does it mean that skype wont officially provide an app for this windows phone 7? (at leat in the short term?)

DL the zip, open it on comp, drag the CAB folder from zip onto micro SD storage card, and put that in phone… click on the cab and it install’s perfectly. Am using a Samsung i8000 (Omnia II).

sorry, just a thought.. does it have anything to do with the ‘configure your proxy’ option at the bottom? because i know my 3g and my wifi both work.
The zip file didn’t open on my laptop. I used the exe file instead.
This is what I did and it worked:
> Connected my mobile to laptop in ActiveSync mode.
> Installed exe on my laptop.
> It sends the CAB file automatically to the phone, and asks you to install (location etc).
Ready to go now!

just successfully installed downloaded exe software to htc kaiser and it finally works …. after a reboot. take note to install via PC using activesync. good luck
