AskTheAdmin Neglected and Hacked! But we are back!

(Begin Rant) I know, I know we went from 10 authors and multiple posts a day of geeky goodness to lucky if we have one post a week. WordPress wasn’t updated and we became a prime candidate for a’ hacking. We deserved it for not staying up to date and as punishment the Google has delisted us. Imagine that from tens of thousands of hits trickled down to under a thousand. We have fixed the issues removed the exploits, users and migrated the server and updated WordPress.

I am working with Google right now to have the site recertified – by a human to get them to start crawling again. Strangely some traffic is still coming in from them but the majority now is from links on other sites such as Lifehacker, MakeUseOf and the New York Times. /Rant

Really man? That sucks! Oh well, it could happen to anybody.
I’ve been absent for a while, but plan on writing an article or two on a more regular basis.
I hope to have her back to where we were a year ago today. We had 134,987 hits on 10/13/2008! And today we are hovering around 1000! :(
I’m definitely empathetic. I actually had a site hacked — 4articles.com — not long ago, took a while to get it back up.

btw nice commenting plugin, what do you use..
For the commenting system we use the normal WordPress comments with this plugin to thread them http://blog.2i2j.com/plugins/wordpress-thread-comment and another plugin to use the avatars for the user.
Is that how i get notified each time u reply to my comment. I have this old plugin called comment mailer that does it for me. Looking for a new one.
Yup it is the threaded comment plugin that does that.
