Thx for the tip. An excellent resource for keyboard shortcuts is keyxl.com. They have a massive online database of keyboard shortcuts searchable by program. And they cover all the major operating systems (Win, Mac and Linux)..Hope this is relevant .Thanks

I used to do this, I use this program now called launchy. It’s like your start menu -> run, but on crack. hit alt-space to bring up the launchy window and type whatever program you want to run.
