I have also tested this on Vista with SP1 and it is working just fine even though elby doesn’t specifically say that Vista is supported

I’ve been using MagicDisc for ages, and it runs flawlessly. They have a 32 bit and 64 bit version. Both free. Both fantastic.

One other item, VCD also had no problem when mounting a .iso from a network drive.

Yeah Jim it is permanent freeware from when M$ picked up the project and it is still being updated.

I hope this is permanent freeware. If not I have a copy which will save me some bucks vs. the pay for program I had been using. I have also tested this on Vista with SP1 and it is working just fine even though elby doesn't specifically say that Vista is supported. Also based on the version number of 5.3.0.1 and the last update of 4/10/08 it would appear that elby is updating this freeware, hopefully that will continue.

whoa, I thought Virtual Clone Drive was payware… is this a permanent Freeware? or just a temporary offer? Personally, I've found a really sweet little utility that's free, and VERY efficient with a TINY footprint, it's called imdisk.
