At my current day job, I work for a small technology start-up in La Jolla California. We offer web-based solutions for some of the nation’s top banks, and housing lenders. We also provide a database for “closing service” providers, so you can hire people like home inspectors, and exterminators at the best price when selling…

Image via Wikipedia I have been trying to track down a network issue I’ve been having at work for the last month and a half. It’s a real pain because it only happens once a week randomly, and it only lasts for 2 to 5 minutes. Since it’s so unpredictable, it’s nearly impossible to track…

When I started my current day job one of the things the IT department didn’t have was a decent monitoring system. They did have an external service that monitored the company websites, but nothing internally for monitoring servers for disk space, service, or CPU issues. To remedy that problem I decided to implement a really…

I think it was in 2006 I attended my first hacker convention in San Diego called Toorcon. It was pretty cool because the company I worked for at the time was a sponsor, so they paid for my admission in. I will never forget one of the guys that I saw there. Dude was bald…

A few years ago I came across a free web host provider, and have been using them ever since. Now, as some of you know, I have my own technology blog called Bauer-Power, and that is hosted on Blogger. I love Blogger because it’s easy and free. Plus it’s owned by Google, so that means that the…

Hello Boys and Girls, It seems other companies aside from Apple are putting their thinking caps on and breaking all kinds of molds. There was a mold. Apple didn’t exactly break the mold for tablets, as shown in this nifty diagram. All they did was scale it up. An overgrown cellphone won’t last very long…

whoa, I thought Virtual Clone Drive was payware… is this a permanent Freeware? or just a temporary offer? Personally, I've found a really sweet little utility that's free, and VERY efficient with a TINY footprint, it's called imdisk. I've written a little guide on using it on my blog. here's the link to the site:

I hope this is permanent freeware. If not I have a copy which will save me some bucks vs. the pay for program I had been using. I have also tested this on Vista with SP1 and it is working just fine even though elby doesn't specifically say that Vista is supported. Also based on the version number of 5.3.0.1 and the last update of 4/10/08 it would appear that elby is updating this freeware, hopefully that will continue.

BurnCDCC from TerabyteUnlimited (Download via FTP) not only burns and works great on Vista RC1, but it requires no install. That's my kind of utility. (Via http://www.hanselman.com) “>http://www.hanselman.com)

I’ve been using MagicDisc for ages, and it runs flawlessly. They have a 32 bit and 64 bit version. Both free. Both fantastic.
