If in Ubuntu just run: $sudo aptitude install startupmanger You should be able to find the app in System=>Administration=>Start-Up Manager You can do this and more with startup-manager. I went and found a splash screen, moved it to /bin/lib/usplash and ran the sudo update-alternatives –install /usr/lib/usplash/usplash-artwork.so usplash-artwork.so /usr/lib/usplash/YOUR_SPLASH.so command. I made sure and changed YOUR_SPLASH.so to the one I copied. I get this error msg when I ran the command: update-alternatives: unknown argument `-install' You have any ideas? Admin,
