Windows XP hates President Bush! Have you seen this strange trick?
Good morning fellow conspiracy nuts and lovers of all things strange… This interesting little tidbit is a Windows XP, 2000 or NT only trick. If you open up Notepad on your system and create a document that contains the phrase “Bush hid the facts” and save it with any filename. I chose Paranoia.txt.
Now try and re-open the document. And you will see something that looks like the following.
Is this a Snarky Microsoft political comment? Probably not seeming that “Bill fed the goats” or even “hhhh hhh hhh hhhhh” brings about the same garbage. If the file is saved as “Unicode” rather than the default “ANSI” then the text displays correctly.
This does not happen on Vista, so maybe the Feds got to Redmond already… Or maybe it’s a XP (GASP) Bug?
We just don’t know! Anyone out there really know why this combination of 4,3,3,5 does this?
“Karl led the users” saves properly and it fits the pattern.

I read all the way to the bottom of this post looking for the "Gotcha! Can't believe you fell for that" line. You know, like the kid who tells the other kid that if his hand is bigger than his face then he has a disease?
I tried it, and I was surprised that it worked (and, incidentally, my hand is not bigger than my face).
That is weird and bizarre! I wonder who the first to figure that out was (or if perhaps the originator leaked the information).

Tried on XP, bug replicated. even when you add text in notepad behind the little squares save/reopen, still squares. if you then open in write.exe characters are transformed into eastern/asian characters..!.. Think the feds got there before the easterbunny did….
btw My hand IS bigger than my face, what doctor should I go and see? :-)

That was a typo if you look at it it is 4,3,3,5. Just like Bush hid the facts.
And fyi while my co-worker was reading the comments above he placed his hand on his face…
I just had to push it into his face. I then said GOTCHA!
He continued on BUT MY HAND ISSSS BIGGER THAN MY FACE! Am I going to be ok?

FYI, it seems that SP3 fixes this issue, I have not been able to replicate it on three seperate xp sp3 machines.

Hey buddy strangely enough all my test machines were SP 3 as well. And they all worked just fine. I wonder what the difference is?
