Google Reader Easter Egg.

contra Google Reader Easter Egg.
So how many of you are old school NES fans? Well I sure was! I have logged MANY MANY hours on that awesome system and it brings back some great memories of my child hood. But one thing that has stuck in my head permanently is the code from Contra that gave us 30 lives.

Do you remember it?

It was Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start or Select Start for 2 Players. The Geeks Dudes over at The Google must be programers after my own heart because they not only slipped this code into Google Reader but they added a Ninja to it. And with that the Google Reader Ninja Easter Egg is born!

easterEggGoogleReader Google Reader Easter Egg.After hitting the nostalgic key combo this ninja pops out and shrugs his shoulders at you. Other have reported that it changes their unread count to (30) ala the 30 free guys in Contra but mine did not do that. The Ninja goes away on a refresh… Thanks to everyone that sent this in!

The kitchen sink isn't actually an easter egg, it's the built in Google "I'm Feeling Lucky" at work.

Hey, that’s really cool :) Actually, I didn’t need to press anything after a and b, it worked fine without start (windows button apparently). If you press the combo again it goes away, no need to refresh :)
