I am so glad that this issue has come to light with the ISP. My employer, which is a local governemt, uses TWC East for our network and Verizon Wireless for service to the police cars and EMS. We have the Business package and let me tell ya... TWC has given us the business. I called a few months ago asking if we could upgrade our 5x2 plan for something more beefy. Let it be known that we paid over $200/mth for that plan for many years. I guess I just got lucky with getting a nice rep at TWC b/c he told me that TWC no longer offers the plan that we are currently on, but that he could give us a 15x2 plan for less than $100/mth! Of course we jumped on that horse quick. TWC never once called us or sent an email advising that we could get much more for much, much less. It is obvious they choose financial rape and stock holders over their customers. As Commodore64 mirrored, they have a monopoly and don't really don't care. I would love for some competition, but TWC would buy them up too. I can only think that the ISPs are moving bandwidth from the up side to the down side b/c that's what the people want.... blazing downstream. I run several websites from home and it sucks to be me right now. I can't even use my security cameras anymore b/c the speeds make it jumpy and.... well.... you know. Anyway, that's my piece on the subject. Maybe WWAN will surpass in the upstream area when super wifi comes and I can plug a USB aircard into my web server. LOL!

I have windstream, they offer the same upload no matter whether I get 3meg or 12meg, holds steady at .5 to .6 megs. Service however is not reliable at all. Time warner is my only other option and they seem to be worse, I am tired of the United States of Corporate America. They think they can screw over the herds of masses. Hopefully people wake up a bit so we can take our country back

Time Warner Fails beyond all belief. Thinking Dial up might have higher upload speeds... Try playing a games like Call of Duty 6 or Halo Reach just to find out it take 3 times more bullets then anyone else. Which means if your not 3 times better then everyone else you might just as well give up online gaming all together. I love getting hit markers with my sniper on cod 6. Funny how I die in 1 shot. Yet it takes me 3 when im lucky. sometimes like 5. To make stuff worst almost every night I am forced to unplug my modem and my router. And re plug them in otherwise I will not be able to connect online the next day.

I JUST moved into my new apt in New Olmsted, OH. Large-more-like-a-hotel apt building (200+ units) We're stuck with TW as well. Its just sick that they would drop upload speeds. my first encounter with the issue is when i skyped my my girlfriends back in chicago. She came threw perfectly on my side (download) but she got a delay in my voice and my video quality was drastically dropped on her side (upload). besides that I too need fast upload speeds for work and entertainment. Ill never get TW once im out of this place. Luckily im only staying here for 3 and half months.

I too am upset that TW's promises service of which they never deliver. I hover around 45-50kBps upload speed every time I attempt to FTP files to a remote server. I have wasted a ton of my time dealing with customer service that talks to me like I don't understand how the Internet works.

I am a software engineer with a network engineering background. I know the difference between the 60k upload speed I get vs the 128k I pay for.

TW's Tier1 support is a time wasting joke. Tier2 (after almost 2 hours on the phone) seems to understand the issue enough to push me to Tier3 support. Tier3 is sending someone to my house next week (for the 4th time) to troubleshoot the line.

My connection worked fine for about an hour each of the last few times a tech was dispatched to my house. Then, right back to the ssllooww 60k upload speed.

Time Warner has cornered the market. We need competition to help drive costs down.

When you spend well over $200 a month on basic phone, Internet and TV (I do have HBO and Showtime which show the same 5 movies every day) and the only other option is "high-speed DSL"....

Very frustrating! TW SUCKS!

I had TW Bright House. Which has "3 Awards in customer service." Oh its got be good right? Nope... It costed us 108$ a month for 6mbps download that wasn't constant, and 500kb/s upload that wasn't constant. They then started to throttle, which I hated because I like to have a constant not a mix of up, and down. The best thing was when we got routed to the texus servers. Then switched to the Tallahassee servers. It really sucked because my ip changed alot and during the switch which happens once a month caused me to lose 2 days of internet. Also our signals in our area were not even constant at all we called brighthouse hundreds of times. In the end after 1 week of fios being installed in my area, we switched 25mbps download, and 25mbps up. Absolutely no problem now, + we have no more pixel channels, ( you know when ur watching and sometimes the whole tv goes pixelated) + no more random shutoffs from the switching. Its great.

just called TW about crappy upload speed and they offered a upgrade to Turbo which only added 20kb to the upload. If they advertise 512 to 768 I think they should giving that speed to us. Uploading pictures and video to facebook takes hours now. I had better upload with DSL.

I certainly hope competition comes to my area. I upload photos and data to sites I pay for the service for and it is a joke. Took over 24 hours to upload a partially loaded 2GB compact-flash of photos to my photo hosting site. At this speed Wile E. Coyote won't need any ACME crap to catch this Road Runner! Unfortunately, there is nothing else available for me except satellite, and I priced it for decent upload speed and it is expensive.

i'm with you 100%. ever since time warner took over comcast i've had nothing but trouble with them. comcast was amazing and we never had trouble with them at all. my upload speed is soooo horrible that my brother and i can't even play Call of Duty at the same time because running 2 xbox's on the 1 connection lags us out. but i've played at a friend's house (not sure of his ISP) and had 3 xbox's running COD on 1 connection and been fine. i don't understand what the hell is going on buck i'm sick and tired of this bull shit.
