I've done the rsync one with a cronjob. I don't have a server to use Mondo+Mindi, though. My friend Spec might be able to help on that tutorial though. I think that's what he uses at work.

Rsync over SSH is insufficient…why? If you're on Linux and need incrementals with bare-metal restore abilities, Mondo+Mindi will turn the contents of your hard disk into a pile of ISOs and replace old dailies with just one from that week after a while…however you set it up. And then you can burn the ISOs from the backup server and have a full set of restore disks to go back to whatever point in time you want.

So it's basically just a rebranded Carbonite. Same exact pricing as Carbonite too.

I prefer Mozy. Did some test restores and everything worked well. Thankfully, I haven't had to do any very large restores yet. Mozy was recently bought by EMC so there is some serious money and storage behind it now. They also allow you to use your own encryption key.
The other nice thing about Mozy is that you get 2 Gigs for free but you can get more space through referrals. I now have 11.5 Gigs of free space through my shameless referrals.
