Philips Ambilight TVs and FujiFilms Z10 Fine Pix Cameras.
Oct 28th
So there we were on the scene the other night. AtA chilling with Philips as they were showing Fuji Film’s new Z10fd cameras on their beautiful Ambilight flat panel displays. Because the new camera’s line has so many vibrant colors it was a really good fit with the Ambilight.
Why do I feel like I’m stuck in a commercial? Oh wait – I don’t get paid…
We were impressed by both the cameras blog mode(Multiple picture size outputs) and Quick (3mbps) IR transfer. An open bar and good finger food made sure everyone was having a good time. Maybe too good of a time for some of the execs looking as whacked out as they did.
It’s ok – not like we are going to go and tell the whole world. Oh wait.
But anyway, the entertainment was cool and we didn’t get to stay for the whole time but the audience was having a good time snapping away. Check out some of our blog mode shots…
It seems this little 7 mega pixel brightly colored camera can output blog size optimized pics, so yours truly doesn’t have to re-size in Photoshop or Gimp. That’s a plus, and it can transfer pics from one z10 camera to another via a sweet little infra-red port on it’s side. Check out our willing recipients:
We absolutely fell in love with the eye candy Ambilight effects on the new flat panels. The colors on these new TV’s were great and looked ultra realistic – then they showed us the color picking menu and how realistic it actually gets…
You pick which setting you prefer – realistic or vibrant.
That’s the Ambilight doing its thing with a purpleish color to match FujiFilm’s logo.
We had seen Ambilight several times before on older equipment. It was always a separate unit and it really didn’t do much – but whoa boy did Philips switch it up this time around. With the beautiful 42 incher we were looking at changing Ambilight colors (LED!) depending on what is going on in your programing. Think about it like this: If there are lights behind the television simulating natural light while you are in a dark room your eyes don’t have to adjust and work. That’s awesome! Now we can watch 20 hours of The Simpsons Educational Programing without the eye fatigue… Sweet. Don’t hold me to this but I believe the 42 inch was around 1500… Let me check and get back to you on that.

Install Leopard the new Mac OS on your PC in 3 easy steps!
Oct 27th
Well its been only a day since the Mac OSX Leopard was released officially by Apple and the hackers have managed to create a patched DVD that everyone like you and me can use to install Leopard on PC’s without having to buy a Mac. Please note the tutorial that I am going to post is still experimental and things might not work the right way simply because it is still early days in hacking Leopard to work on PC’s. Well if you don’t mind your PC getting screwed then go ahead and try out this tutorial.
Make sure you backup all important data before you proceed. Here are the things that you will need before Install Leopard on your PC…
- The Patched DVD Image
- The zip file containing the patch
- One pen drive or USB Flash Drive formatted as FAT32
Well once you have all these you can go ahead and Install Leopard..
Step 1. Getting things ready
- Burn the DVD Image onto a Single Layer DVD-R using a software like Nero.
- Format the USB Flash Drive and the drive label should be “Patcher” without the quotes. Please note it has to be “Patcher” only and nothing else for the patch to work when we apply it later.
- Extract the Zip file and put its contents into the USB Flash Drive.
- Now your USB Drive should contain a folder called “files”, if it doesn’t then check to see where you have gone wrong…

HSDPA has arrived In Brooklyn! Do you 3G?
Oct 27th
Just A quick note…. Wait for it…. Wait for it….
I now have HSDPA and 3G in My house on my Dopod!
I wrote all about my HSDPA addiction over here. And it would make me sad to not have high speed mobile access like I did in Manhattan. I started wondering why Church Avenue and Downtown Brooklyn were getting all the love. Then in a flash over night my magic H has appeared. Now I have a evil grin – Staring at my dual monitor setup. 896Kbps to my phone is super fast so no more switching to Wi-Fi in the house for me!

Do you guys get 3G or HSDPA yet in your home cities? Get at me man let me know where the speeds at!

Mac OSX Tip Of The Weekend – Ultra-Magnify
Oct 27th
Good Weekend Ladies and Gents,
It looks like we will be doing a lot more Mac tips thanks to our free iMac. This quick mac tip can save you alot of time by giving you quick access to an ultra magnifier built right into OSX. It’s done, without any prior setting changes, by holding down the Ctrl key while ‘zooming in’ (from bottom to top) with 2 fingers on the touch pad. Now maybe this is a trick that some people knew about, but I was shocked when a friend of mine showed it to me this weekend, oddly enough way far from civilization in the Catskill mountains. We both happened to bring our (previously unbeknown to us) matching Power books. I thought I had all the shortcuts down, but I concede my friend Junior had a great one that I had no clue about.
Did anyone else know about this?
Commodore 64 (The one you used to play Bruce Lee on)
Edit: The feature was introduced in the first Aluminum powerbooks to run 1.5GHz. Earlier aluminums, the Titanium, and almost all iBooks are missing this capability. Some (not all) of the earlier machines can accommodate the third-party iScroll hack to obtain this feature, but it doesn’t interact as predictably with the control button as the Apple feature. Also, someone else reminded me to add that you also have to turn the two-finger scrolling ON in System Preferences, or else this tip won’t work either._TheAdmiN_
Did you send us a 24 inch Intel iMac?
Oct 26th
We got a package in the mail yesterday with no return address. Scary?
Someone sent us a HUGE 24″ Intel iMac. That’s right we said someone because we have no idea who. That didn’t stop us from firing the bad boy up and seeing what she got.
2.13 ghz Intel processor, 2 Gigs of memory, 250gb hard drive and a beautiful 24 inch screen. I just downloaded and installed firefox. Now I’m staring at this Monster like… Now What??
I downloaded the Remote Desktop Client Beta from Microsoft’s website so now I can remote into several severs and desktops using the new screen real estate available. Alright so I have an over glorified KVM on my hands!
It looks like we may just be covering the Leopard launch after all! We will try and get a copy over the weekend. If our wonderful anonymous Mac giver has a copy – you know where we are at. Obviously.
Should we be scared? What me worry??
Check out these pictures of the new iMac intimidating our Windows Machines.

The funniest eBay Auction ever! Beware you may pee on yourself.
Oct 26th
We had a great time last night at the FujiFilm launch party with the Philips gang and we will bringing you that a little later. Don’t worry Cameras and Flat Panel TV’s oh my!
In the mean time this is a great laugh for a Friday morning. Real deal eBay auction running right now. It needs no introduction. Read it through but be forewarned it is a R-rated. :) But hey what it isn’t thats funny now-a-days. grammar and spelling errors left in for emphasis! Maybe one of you out there in the Intermanets wants to help this dude out. We feel for you man!
The auction is for a Dell Latitude D600. 60GB HD, 1 GB memory, Dual Band Wi-Fi, Very light scratches on the top, Screen is scratch free and shows up crystal clear. She took good care of the laptop. It has all the newest updates, and comes with office, Roxio and other programs. Just an all around good laptop to have. I bought this as a gift for my ex.
What is included in winning this auction is not only the laptop, but also everything else she left. Right now it is the laptop, the bag, some cables, the power supply, some personal items, sunglasses, clothes and a book “the story of O”. I will be cleaning my place this weekend so the bounty will grow.
This is the last of the crap my ex girlfriend has left at my place. She left me for an older guy she met on dumm dum duuu…my space. A 30 year old guy on MySpace hitting on 21 yr old woman. Whatever, hey props to him for being able to pull it off.
I figure what more fitting way to totally get rid of her then online.
I met this wonderful pain in my ass from a friend of mine (who I haven’t talked to since). It was his niece, and she had just moved out here from Kansas. At first glance she seemed perfect. She played guitar, was gorgeous, and was a monster in the sac.
The only glaring issue is that she smoked weed. A LOT. Every day.
She could cause her uncle, my friend, was pretty well off and paid for her. She had a hell of a deal, go out with me, get treated, go back to her uncle’s house, and get treated.
As time went on I found myself spending more and more on this chick and getting less and less, umm “return”. After a month long dry spell I figured something was up and began paying more attention to what she was doing.
One day she said she was going shopping then out with some friends and would be home late, probably getting baked. As soon as she,I spent the next ten minutes going over her computer looking for emails and passwords. She left all her info in a notepad in her my docs. I started rummaging around her yahoo account and came upon some emails from “Jeff”. I knew most of her friends and this one was new.
Reading them it came clear this was the dick doing my girl.
So I signed in as her to yahoo and no joke within 30 seconds I got an IM from Dick…. I mean Jeff, asking if she was still up to meet at the mall.
I went red with anger, but then calmed down and thought this is her screw up not his. So I made a deal with the devil.
Seeing that sex had gone out the window a month ago (seriously from once or twice a day to nothing) I figured if I could get any neither should he. I started chatting with him but at the end I said
” I would love to do anal tonight, but I don’t like it slow, when you have me doggy style, just go for it. I will be ready all night”
He replied with a simple OK. I then said, as her, I am heading out the door now.
No surprise, she came home early, around midnight slamming the door on her way in. I hear some noise in the living room, the laptop slamming shut, and zippers opening. I came out from my bedroom and asked her what’s wrong?
Her rant consisted of maybe 3 non obscene words, so I don’t think eBay would let me print them. I did catch ” you told him to butt **** me! How dare you invade my privacy?” She was so pissed she grabbed her overnight bag, leaving her laptop.
That was 2 months ago and she hasn’t been back since. So that is why I am selling her laptop.
I would like to get at least 400 buck to recoup all the money I spent on her. Women should come with a refund option………… [eBay]
