I tried it last night – the interface is slick and it converted to ipod well. Burned a DVD faster than 7.

@Mac – it worked beautifully for my PSP it was a lot quicker than River Converter I had used before. It took under 20 minutes to do a 35 minute clip.

How well does it convert files to a mobile (ipod or psp)? I used to have problems with 7 making audio go out of synch.

No the installer is HUGE – the image of the disk was in the area of 1.2 gb. And it takes a while to install but not as long as 7!!

You mention that load times are cut in half and the memory footprint is also smaller. How about the installer? Nero7 took way too long to install even on my powerful workstation.

Nero has always been awesome. Just a question though, when converting from DVD to iPod or Mobile, does it support copy-protected DVDs or do you have to have some third party software to allow them to be read?

Never? Thats pretty interesting! I have used K3b among other linux based burning apps and they are normally quick loading but lite on pretty menus and optional features - like the disk rescue app.

If you are a Linux guru and can do what you need to do easily and have the know how to fix the issues that pop up along side it. But for Mom & Pops this program will be alot easier to teach (or just walk them through a burn).

All the add-ons that Nero has makes it a powerful tool for converting one source to another -

Jake does K3B have HD-Dvd & Blu-Ray support yet?

I’ve never used Nero, so I’m not really sure how what I use compares to it. I use k3b on Linux, and in the past, I’ve used InfraRecorder on Windows. The latter was primarily just because I needed something to burn an ISO with.
