Torrent Spy Blocks US IPs Starting today – how do I get around it?

If you use TorrentSpy.com like some of our users you came across a message that looked something like this:

Sorry, but because you are located in the USA you cannot use the search features of the Torrentspy.com website.Torrentspy’s decision to stop accepting US visitors was NOT compelled by any Court but rather an uncertain legal climate in the US regarding user privacy and an apparent tension between US and European Union privacy laws.

Yup if you are browsing over from a united states IP address you are out of luck… Better get to spoofing that IP! What is your favorite way around IP restrictions? Anyone? This is the worst kind of discrimination – the kind that discriminates against me!

  1. PD says:

    Maybe use TOR?

  2. Karl L. Gechlik says:

ewww that one costs $$$ tor is free. One of the interns is going to give it a shot during lunch

  3. Loz says:

Go to proxy.org and you can select a proxy server that is not from the US. This way Torrent Spy thinks you are in the country that the proxy server is located.
