Vista Battery Saver
We all know that the battery life of your laptop is a precious commodity, with this in mind I have discovered a program that claims to actually reduce the amount of power your Vista
based laptop consumes.
The Vista Battery Saver works on the premise that turning off the Vista’s side-bar and Aero effects will save you up to 70% of your
laptop battery.
Looking at the programs interface, it does look rather promising…
Since its rather hard to believe that simple cosmetic changes would result in such a drastic change in power consumption, the author has ran tests to prove that the program actually works,
check them out here.
I would love to test it, yet I am running Ubuntu on my laptop, so
your input on this would be rather interesting.

cosmetic stuff uses more processing cycle which uses more juice.
I have a new XPS dell laptop to give it a go on. Ill let you know on Monday!

Yes you can, but it does it all automatically for you, I wonder if turning off Linux based bling i.e. Compiz, will have the same effect..
