Hopefully they will support us Mac users soon enough - i think the pc ppl using iphones are having similar issues.

Found another free exchange service (http://live.mail2web.com/)and a description of how one user got it to work with their wm6 device check it out below. It also looks ike they offer a pay service with ssl and more features.

Right had a right plaver to sort this out and finally got a solution where I can sync my contacts and calender from my mac with my SPV E650 (WM6) mobile phone but there does not seem to be a solution as of yet for file transfers.

It works like this:- Address book and calender sync with Entourage, which in turn syncs with a free exchange server to which I can sync my mobile device with via Activesync.

So down to the nitty gritty….

Get yourself a free basic subscription to a exchange server such as Mail2Web Live.

You can then set up your mobile device via the instructions provided on the mail2web site.

Now you need to set up Entourage to sync with your preferred calender and address book either the OS X own or iCal or Address book (this is done by going to entourage preferences, make sure you use the correct option at stage 3).

To set up Entourage for a exchange server just follow these steps:-

Open Entourage
Go to the “Tools” menu and select “Accounts”
From the “New” menu, select “Exchange”
Click “Configure Account Manually”
Enter the following settings into the dialog box
Account Name - Anything you like such as mail2web etc
Account ID - Your exchange server account name. I had to use x…x_mail2web_ although apparently x…x@mail2web.com is supposed to work
Password - Your Exchange password
Domain - Enter your Exchange domain. For Mail2Web, enter the domain you used to configure your device
Exchange Server - Enter the address of your Exchange Server. For Mail2Web use exchange.mail2web.com
Select the secure server option
E-mail address - Enter your preferred email address.
and that should be your lot any probs then post a comment and I will try to answer any of your queries

From here: http://www.knightlore.com/general/sync-between-a-wm6-device-and-mac-solvedsort-of/

Account Name – Anything you like such as mail2web etc
Account ID – Your exchange server account name. I had to use x…x_mail2web_ although apparently x…x@mail2web.com is supposed to work
Password – Your Exchange password
Domain – Enter your Exchange domain. For Mail2Web, enter the domain you used to configure your device
Exchange Server – Enter the address of your Exchange Server. For Mail2Web use exchange.mail2web.com
Select the secure server option
E-mail address – Enter your preferred email address.
and that should be your lot any probs then post a comment and I will try to answer any of your queries

Entourage syncs, with Exchange 5.5 or better, to keep your virtual exchange server up to date with your Entourage data.

Then you can sync over edge, gprs or wifi with your new virtual exchange server. Mind you these are hoops to jump through to get MS to play nicely with your mac but we are still looking for another solution for you.

Anyone?

Update the site is not taking any new members! Doh!

Back to the drawing board...

Karl,

Thank you for the prompt reply (much sooner then I expected). Your guidance while helpful I am afraid cuts my MACBOOOK PRO out of the picture (I think), I am currently using ENTOURAGE as my organizational tool. 1. How can I transfer (sync) what I currently have in ENTOURAGE with the virtual Exchange Server. 2. Once my contacts from ENTOURAGE are synched with the virtural exchange server (free service), how secure will my information be?
