Why require a warrant for police searches of your house? Are you trying [...]

A little while back I read an article about Open Source – Still afraid of Open Source?
This was an article from ItToolbox detailing an office switch over to being Microsoft Free @ work and loving it. The first article was great (see link above) but the followup with all the programs he is using as M$ [...]

Hi boys and girls,
Do you remember when Ask The Admin covered a very interesting topic of Free Exchange services? For those who don’t, you can look here, here and sometimes here.
In a nutshell, this article talked about how me and my fiance’ had to plan our wedding and had tons of appointments flying in from [...]
I was a hard core Netscape user before the days of FireFox and before that I was all about IE4 . (Sorry for the re-run but Kayla didn’t let us sleep this weekend!) So I have realized change is good and you live and you learn. So when I heard about Flock, I decided to [...]
Hey boys and girls!
Have you ever been in a situation where you wished you could sync calendars with somebody who is seemingly unconnected? On top of that, you wished that somehow, by some magical force, those calendars can sync automatically, wirelessly and invisibly; involving no further effort beyond the initial configuration, and that this calendar [...]

Could you carry on a conversation about the impending spectrum auction if someone were to strike one up with you? Do you know what the spectrum auction is?
Don’t worry about it, most of us can’t and don’t. Not to worry though. Scott from AndroidGuys is here, guest-blogging for AtA to explain a little bit [...]
Hey Boys and Girls,
We’ve had the honor of meeting up with the guys over at Gelaskins. Their products were one of the more popular products at the CES pre-show and Digital-Life Show, mainly because of the sexy designs they use for their Gelaskins. Really wicked stuff. But there’s more to Gelaskins than meets the eye. [...]
Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen,
This is your friendly Commodore 64 here to report on yet another useful, tech-improving, free service that is bound to improve any nerd’s life fo sho.
This new service, which has solved a long standing problem, in my view, with send/receive, hates attachments, crappy, slow, sluggish, snap-crackle, pop3 email technology. The software [...]

If the CEO is in today, I am supposed to grab his CC and get the iPhone today to start testing.
Here’s what we want to do, and this is a precursor to a blog I will make when we get some test time on the phone.
1. Marketing materials on the phone via flash/quicktime/mpgs/itunes movies.
2. Replace blackberry with sexy iphone
3. Mail sync – probably though pop/imap
4. Calendar – probably going to use Domino Access for MS Outlook, as MS’ Outlook -> Domino connector sucks
5. Contacts -> Totally not sure how I am going to do this. I may be able to use the DAMO.
Those are my objectives. I’ll let everyone know how it works when I get some time in it….probably next week.

Here you go John from the Zimbra Forums looks like chattermail is the answer!
For anyone that’s interested, you can achieve the same ‘push’ features that Blackberry & Exchange 2003 (SP2) have. I have tested this with the current version of Zimbra and a Treo 650 (also works with a Treo 600) and an email client called ChatterEmail (ChatterEmail is exclusively for the Treo 600/650) from here http://www.chatteremail.com – email arrives in the Zimbra and, voila, almost instantly on your phone/PDA.
There may, of course, be other solutions to this but I thought someone might be in the same position as me and needing instant email notification – at a relatively low cost with Zimbra & ChatterEmail.
