The Windows Command line Is My Best Friend…

Don’t Pity Me, It’s A Good Thing I Swear…

killflanders The Windows Command line Is My Best Friend...I love using the command line – straight up, no mouse. It helps me work faster and more efficiently. There isn’t as much distraction and you don’t get the urge to just click click click on something.

In Windows, just like most other operating systems, you can do everything from mapping network drives to adding domain or local users all the way back to remote rebooting a pc on your lan or how about over your wan? You can use these commands from the command prompt or run them in a batch file (.bat) to get some automation going!

Does this interest any of you budding admins out there that couldn’t operate a computer with out a mouse?

Hit us up in the comments and let us know what you want to be able to do via command line and we will hook you up.

Or tell us what you have been doing via that old dos prompt… Come on impress us…

I dare you

My boss at my first IT job said it best, “Everything is cooler from the command line.”

Not only does it make things a lot easier, but it makes you look really smart in from of users too ;-)

Some of my favorite command line utilities are in the pstools suite by (formerly) sysinternals.
