Thanks for posting the wires to use from a USB sync cable. I had an extra sync cable, but not an extra charge cable.

another alternative (for those who are MORE electronically inclined, or have friends that are) is to use a variable DC power supply instead of hacking apart a SUB cable.

Sorry if that's stating the obvious, but I didn't think of it right away!
