the error means the phone does not know what a lbk file is – neither do i btw. so it tells you to open the program that you will use to view this file. for example if it was a mp3 you would open windows media player and then browse to the mp3 – email me @ info@askTheAdmin.com if you need more help.

I’m still unsure (on my HTC) how to get a program to work when it gives the message that there is no application associated with this file. Run the application first then open the file within the application. The files that do this to me all have the windows symbol. They are lbk files.

This is awesome…thanks! I was able to use the first cab file to use the other unlock app if that makes any sense. The htcunlocker asked me to run first because there was no application for it, so I just tried the other unlock app I had and it finally worked. If a program does say run first, how do you do that?

It seems this model does need to be application unlocked and it is a little more difficult...

Run this cab file Cab File.

then unlock using this HTC unlock utility:

HTCUnlocker.

And finally run this application unlock tool for the sda

SDAunlocker.

As for the webmail, is there anyway to get around this? Can I use wifi to check my emails some otherway without going on a data plan?

First I’ll admit that I learn by trial and error, as I’m a stay at home mom, who likes gadgets. I have made a file on my desktop to save the ones I want on my phone. I save them to there, and then close them. I then double click to open Explore on my Microsoft Avtive sync. I double click on my Mobile Device, and drag them to my SD card. Once they’re in there I then have them on my HTC 621, and I can then go into my file explorer and then open them by selecting them out of my SD card file. It then says Installing, and then asks me to select wheather to install to the device or SD card, and I’ve tried both, then again says installing and the message of Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions. This is how I installed my windows live search, and it works fine. Is there a better way to do it, or a completely different way?

As for the pocket NES how exactly are you trying to install it. Please walk me through your steps.

And this is a HTC branded device right? Not the dash or another carrier. All the HTC's I have ever seen came already unlocked and I know that this version works because i have used it before!

We will get to the bottom of this yet!

I also am having troubles opening shaw.ca webmail. I enter my user id and password, and it apperently doesn’t recognise the java script from what Shaw has told me. I have java, so it should work right?

That’s great. This is where I got the App Unlock before, and I had already tried the Pocket Nester Plus but it gives the same message as the App Unlock in my 1:29pm post to you. It doesn’t matter if I try saving it in my phone or in my sd card. I have the 50 NES Classics saved, but they won’t open when I try. Nothing happens at all.

The Htc621 for our readers that don't know is the equivalent of the T-mobile Dash - But HTC does not Application lock nor Sim Lock their devices so there is NO NEED for you to run the SurrealNetwork Application unlock tool.

This is for the Tmobile Crippled Dash so you can install unsigned apps on that bad boy.

So I have a htc s621 which is the same as the T-Mobile, and when installing the Surreal Network App Unlock itcomes up with a message of…Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system permissions. What now?
